Pig ’N Pancake – Oregon Coast local favorite

Pig 'N Pancake entry, Seaside Oregon location at dawn. There are plenty of options for the best breakfast in Seaside Oregon.

Pig ’N Pancake is an iconic sight along the North Oregon Coast, with several locations. If you’re in the mood for traditional American breakfast foods and a warm atmosphere, this is the spot.

I had lunch here with my daughter on a mother-daughter trip a few years back. We only waited a few minutes for a table. It was busy, but noise levels were moderate and not overwhelming.

Pig ’N Pancake has booth and table seating options, and wait times are usually reasonable. The menu is full of safe, recognizable options like pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, and hash browns.

Osprey Café – cozy and calm brunch

Osprey Cafe, Seaside, Oregon street view

If you’re in search of that cute beach vibe, the Osprey Cafe is the place! The wood shingle siding gives a Cape Cod feeling with an Oregon twist.

Osprey Café feels smaller, quieter, and more personal than many of the larger breakfast spots. Its location just off the south end of the Promenade makes makes it a great spot to begin or end a morning walk on the beach.

The Osprey Cafe’s creative menu is a mix of internationally-inspired foods and American comfort food. Its diverse menu offerings have included chorizo and sweet potato breakfast tacos, croque madame with shaved local asparagus, and strawberry vanilla scones.

Early mornings are calm, with lower noise levels and a relaxed pace. Indoor seating is limited, which can be tricky during peak hours, so arrive early if needed. During the summer there’s often additional outdoor dining under a tent (it’s pet-friendly too).

There are also several grab-and-go options such as pastries and breakfast burritos.

Ocean Café & Bar – quick and sweet

The Ocean Cafe and Bar (also known as the Ocean Bakery Café) is the on-site restaurant for the Best Western Plus Ocean View Resort. It offers unparalleled convenience for hotel guests and walk-in visitors, just steps from the Seaside Aquarium.

Straightforward breakfast options for kids and adults include sand dollar pancakes, bagel sandwiches, French toast and avocado toast. There’s also several grab-and-go options if you’re short on time.

The Ocean Cafe also provides outlets and USB ports for families who need to recharge devices. Mom and Dad can get a little bit of work done while neurodivergent kids can regulate with a little screen time. My AuDHD teen would love this cafe!

Dundee’s Donuts – best for no-fuss mornings

Dundee’s Donuts keeps things wonderfully simple. You order your Sleepy Monk coffee or mocha, you grab a few donuts, you leave.

Donuts

It’s a laid-back vibe, and there’s minimal seating, which actually works in its favor for families. Toddlers don’t have time to melt down, and older kids make fast choices.

Dundee’s Donuts bills itself as “Seaside’s best donuts“, and honestly I feel like they’re nailing it. My daughter and I started our Seaside exploration weekend with donuts and the best white mochas from Dundee’s – it’s a favorite memory.

Seaside Coffee House – excellent service

Seaside Coffee House is another great place for a quick-start breakfast. Their pastries, quick breads, donuts (baked in-house) and handcrafted coffee drinks work best for families with teens or kids who prefer to snack.

Latte in a cat mug

Seaside Coffee Roasters sells their own coffee blends, as well as merchandise like mugs and shirts. The coffee house is known for its friendly staff and excellent service, as well as for special events and live music.

In 2025 the Clatsop Economic Development Resources committee recognized the Seaside Coffee Roasters with the “Exceptional Customer Service” award.

Bagels by the Sea – something for everyone

Bagels by the Sea offers amazing bagel sandwiches on freshly baked New York style bagels made with organic ingredients. Customize your breakfast sandwich by adding Tillamook cheddar cheese, avocado, capers or any number of options on the menu.

This is a dependable choice for selective eaters or families who want something simple before starting the day. Bagels are easy to share, and most kids can find something they’re comfortable eating. There are also fresh-baked pastries available besides bagels.

Bagels by the Sea is in an old bank building, and has work space setups and outlets as well as free WiFi. The private “Vault” room for meetings or larger groups is available for rent.

Beach Day Coffee – best grab-and-go

Beach Day Coffee feels designed for families already halfway into their day. Sandy shoes, hoodies on, coffee in hand. Located steps from the Prom turnaround, it’s the ideal spot to grab a midmorning pick-me-up.

The breakfast biscuits, cookies, and smoothies are easy to carry and eat. Service is quick, which matters when kids are ready to go now.

This is one of our favorite stops when we don’t want to slow down or commit to a long meal. You can just dash up from the beach for a quick snack, then you’re back to watching the kids splash in the waves.

Caffé Latte – drinks on the go

Caffé Latte is a good place to grab coffee while shopping the Seaside Carousel Mall. I usually enjoy their mochas, but you can also grab an Italian soda, hot cocoa, or various baked goods and sandwiches.

I love browsing their selection of kitschy gift items with funny quotes and the cute decor. Caffe Latte is conveniently located next to the Carousel, but the busy environment can be challenging with kids. Plan to make this a quick stop – it’s not great for a sit-down meal.

Chalkboard Café – river views and all day breakfast

Chalkboard Café feels like a true local spot, and enjoys beautiful views of the Necanicum River. It’s relaxed, unfussy, and slower than many nearby options, with breakfast served all day.

The menu changes frequently and is focused on locally sourced ingredients. Specialties include the Redneck Benedict (biscuits and gravy with fried chicken and eggs served Benedict-style), Philly Cheesesteak sandwiches and homemade quiche.

This is a good choice when you want a delicious meal without feeling rushed. Check hours ahead of time, as they can vary (mostly open on weekends).

Finn’s Fish House – breakfast for seafood lovers

Finn's Fish House in Seaside, Oregon

Finn’s Fish House isn’t always the first place families think of for breakfast, but it’s worth considering. To be honest, I didn’t even know they offered breakfast until I was writing this post!

I’ve enjoyed several dinners here, and I love their delicious food and friendly service. Finn’s breakfast options are hearty, with a focus on seafood options like razor clams with eggs or pan-fried steelhead with eggs.

They also serve traditional breakfast dishes like Belgian waffles and omelets. Several types of eggs Benedict are available, including one topped with Dungeness crab and bay shrimp.

I’d recommend Finn’s for families with older kids and teens who are looking for a classy breakfast experience. Note: they also serve a late night breakfast from 11 pm- 2 am if you have teens who suddenly need a meal at midnight!

Burly & the Bean – pop up option

Burly & the Bean is a pop-up coffee stand that is frequently located near Azalea Park. Locals love them for the seasonal espresso specialties like peppermint dark bark mocha.

Worth the drive for breakfast: Camp 18 Restaurant & Logging Museum

Camp 18 Restaurant & Logging Museum is absolutely worth planning into your trip! We’ve eaten here many times with kids over the years, since it’s perfectly situated on Highway 26 between Portland and Seaside.

@dinkumtribe This is one of our favorite stops on the road from the Portland regional out to Seaside or Cannon Beach. The camp 18 restaurant has a fantastic gift shop, nice bathrooms, and make some of the best cinnamon rolls ever tasted! Plus there’s all the old logging equipment to check out, so it’s really a great place to stretch your legs. @DinkumTribe ADHD family travel @DinkumTribe ADHD family travel @DinkumTribe ADHD family travel #loggingmachine #roadsideattraction #oregontravelideas #loggingequipment #placestovisit #oregoncheck ♬ Good Vibes (Instrumental) – Ellen Once Again

The dining room is large, open, and stroller-friendly. Noise levels stay surprisingly calm, even when it’s busy. Our kids had fun playing the peg game and coloring the kids’ menu while they waited.

The breakfast is hearty and familiar. Think big portions and classic American food, and some of the biggest cinnamon rolls you’ve ever seen! I recommend taking a few with you to go if you can.

The Camp 18 logging museum is spread around the grounds outside, with huge equipment pieces to walk around and explore. We’ve walked inside the old train cars and climbed up on some of the antique equipment as well. Kids have room to move, reset, and discover new things.

Camp 18 gift shop

The gift shop is full of cute finds and has some fun toys for kids too. Camp 18 is one of the most family-friendly breakfast stops in the region, and it’s about 30 minutes’ drive from Seaside.

Tips for choosing a breakfast spot in Seaside

The best breakfast depends on your morning rhythm and plans for the day. Some days call for quiet and calm, others need speed and sugar. You’ll find plenty of both options in Seaside, Oregon.
